sea, ship.

good time.
1975. dream weaver.
beautiful cars.

I made this print in school, in 7th grade. I went to a small private christian school at the time. I have really fond memories of the 3 years I went there, at least as far as school is concerned - it was nice.
very small school, grades k - 9, and only a hand full of kids my age. it was a very relaxed atmosphere, I recall having brought in a portable record player and listening to 'rock' records there: elton john, grand funk, leon russell? I first heard 'dark side of the moon' there after someone brought it in. golden years. life seemed good.

what we did on our holidays.

last fall crosby stills nash played 2 nights at the fillmore in san francisco california
and I was invited to come and see them by my super cool sister and her super cool husband.
if you have been to the fillmore then you know what a world class experience it is to see a show there. these shows were certainly no exception.  one band, two sets of jubilantly presented aural touchstones. as usual, solo and duo work were featured throughout the shows. an ecstatic home crowd pulled for the team in it's crazy bleary fashion - adding that mysterious '4th member' to the band.

my iphone (and photographer? - ed.) showing it's limitations these nights. these are the best.

'we do our best with what we have'

crosby's beautiful alembic guitar.

from here to venezuela.
there's nothing more to see.
than a hundred thousand islands.
flung like jewels upon the sea.
for you and me.

don't you ever ask them why.
if they told you.
you would cry.

crunch.

baahaah.

moooo.

hey lady don't forget your poster.

what super fun 'n' groovy shows. if you're ever in san francisco california, look up the fillmore (though to be precise this isn't the 'good old fillmore west'. - ed.) and go see that in-famous rockin' combo: crosby stills nash. I'm sure you'll agree they're really boss. thanks sis and co. thank you for the days.

'harold and maude' was playing yesterday at the heights theater in columbia heights. it being a favorite of mine, I went. Also, earlier I went to north east minneapolis to look around.

please come back to life.

shopping for patches and groovy old stuff is fun at rewind
on johnson street in northeast minneapolis.

have you seen it? it's very funny and moving.
a wonderful movie about the way life should be.
when I watch 'harold and maude' I feel happy.
when I watch 'harold and maude' I feel sad.

that's all she wrote.

sven's up to his old tricks again.

the latest from tricky corner studio:
"important things going on
today in my folk art lair"
hmmm...  1. do some tidying up.
2. work on mobile started at bree's.
3. repair empire state building.
that should about do it...
...now, let's get to it!

though I struggle conceptually, I won't lose heart. I close my eyes and begin to intuit...a flurry of funky movement transforms the mobile.

...must take a break...pushing too hard. let's see about that empire state building:

it looks bad...

?
breathe.

careful!

no monkeying around!

a break through...cald-tastic!

it's been a busy day here at tricky corner studio!
happy st. patrick's day!
sven.
