cold rain and snow.

today's word? can you say wind? ever drive a motorcycle at a 45° angle not going around corner? every time a semi goes by the motorcycle blows all over the road - fun.
lots of snow too, only a few flurries on the road but when I arrived in lead south dakota, they had just dug out from a blizzard the day before.
hoping for some better weather tomorrow, right rose?

let it flow.

      lost on some endless highway.

                wyoming.

well we're all alone in some trucker town - rose, and we are forced to stop because of the weather.

sorry to leave you out in the snow but at least you have your blanket.

whistling down the wire.

                    utah.

guess I'll have to check my stats, but I think the 9,100 foot pass rose and I went over today, was the highest she's ever been. good job old girl. she got right up those icy roads and down the other side. and while I may grumble about the cold, she loves it.

see you out there.

la strada.

nevada.

the hills have eyes.

on the back roads of nevada. trying to out run mother nature - successful so far - for the most part.

hey folks,
now it's time to return to wintermoor. rose and I will set out tomorrow morning, weather permitting for our long return journey from san francisco, california to columbus, minnesota.
me and rose will finish that journey for you stephen, God willing.
wish me luck or pray or whatever.

evening at the riptide.

girl standing next to her bike outside the riptide bar at the edge of the western world.

after a ride down to pacifica, a night cap at the riptide bar sounds nice. a wonderful neighborhood bar the locals would - I'm sure - rather you stayed away from. anyway it's cool if you ever do go and hopefully you'll chance on some lovely midwestern bluegrass band playing if you go, like we did.

dead horses from osh kosh wisconsin - we're all a long way from home.

 inside the riptide.

 outside the riptide.

under a burgundy rainbow.

an intense wind that heralds our arrival...
and the dreaded sand was blowing through out the day.
the sky dark and cold.
but a fever grips the lad.

do you remember what you told me?
and how that day brought us together.
it doesn't matter anymore.
does it my brother?

one last question remains.
and who knows better than you?
that the answer eludes us both.
please tell me anyway.
sven.

License to Breathe.

 do you remember when?
you promised to me a gold ring?
how it sparkles.
but now it looks so old.

however there may still be time.
but what do we know?
ask your mother for me won't you?
and so many other reasons.

a child who loses his way in the forest once.
is forever lost.
so they say.
but that's only one village.
sven.
happy saint fools day.
